The Concept Behind Martin's Netbook

When I got back from El Salvador, I realized that the medium I had trusted to record and store all the thoughts, observations, and journals from my trip was a tattered blue, completely falling apart, Mead 9x6 college-ruled notebook. As I pulled it out today, 7 months after my return from El Salvador, I realized how excited I was to go back through and transfer the contents of these brittle pages to my computer, making it possible for many others to see the ways in which God worked in my life last June.

I've created this electronic journal simply to display the literal text of my handwritten journals from my missions-related travels (at least as closely as possible). And if I need to say something else, or fill in any blanks, we'll say that I'll just make sure to use those good ole journalistic brackets [you know], and/or italics for longer commentary.

My original thought was to call this blog Be My Escape, alluding to a Relient K song, and focusing on the fact that wherever I escape to, I want God to be fully and 100% in it; but when it came down to it, I think I concluded it was a little ultra-cheesy Christian for me, despite it's paying homage to a great punk rock song.

Plus, it wasn't available as a blog URL, and sometimes that's just the bottom line.
